When it started
I saw a photo of a handsome man with a big friendly smile who was wearing the Star of David. He was younger than me, and I thought he wouldn’t be interested, but what did I have to lose? I sent him a like, and a few days later, he sent one back. On 26 July 2021, nothing else had happened, so I sent a message. “Hi, Frank. I’m not sure if you’re interested in chatting with me, but if you are, how are you? You have a big happy smile.” Frank replied, “Hi Sarah, please forgive my silence. I am good and you?” and we’ve chatted every day since.
26 Jul 2021Our first date
After talking for under two weeks and getting to know each other, we decided that we were ready to meet, but we were determined to build a friendship first. I was on holiday, so we met for coffee and lunch at Rockingham Beach. We went for a walk and ended up at Lattitude 32. I listened to Frank with much interest. His number one aim in life is to be a great father to his five children. Afterwards, we went for a walk and sat on a park bench and continued our conversation - our beliefs aligned on all the important things. As a lady came past with her dog, they stopped. This little dog wanted to say hi to Frank. He patted the dog and spoke so kindly to the lady, and I thought, “this is a good man”. I knew he was a keeper.

When he proposed
It was Father’s Day of 2022. I told Frank that it was his day and that he could ask for whatever he wanted. After opening his gifts from the kids, he told them he needed to talk to me and took me to the lounge room. He sat on my left, which was strange because he usually sits on my right. He held my hand and asked me if I’ll marry him. Thinking it was just an ordinary conversation, I said, “of course”. He stood up and said, “I mean”, then he pulled the ring out, got on one knee and said, “will you marry me?”. You all know what my answer was.

Getting Married
Getting to this point has been a rollercoaster. With a change of venue, a change of wedding dress and a change of styling theme, one thing hasn’t changed - our deep love for each other. We can’t wait to get married and start our journey as husband and wife, making our big beautiful family complete.
